At IPHLA in 2012, which took place from 2 to 4 April 2012 in Mainz, two Honorary Presidents of the BPP were given the highest awards.
Günter Bechtold was awarded the “Hermann Dening Literature Prize”, with 2,000 euros, which is awarded every three years.
Dr Hans-Karl Penning was awarded the Medal of Honour of the BDPh for his many contributions to philately.
