On the occasion of SÜDWEST 2016, the BDPh awarded Jörg Maier, the long-time BPP examiner for Chile, his Golden Badge of Merit for his services to German philately. Chile-Maier “, as he is affectionately called by friends, worked as a lawyer for many years as a senior civil servant in Munich. Today, the 75-year-old dedicates himself very intensively to philately and in particular to his work as an examiner and jury member. His own exhibits were often awarded the highest prizes.
