THE BPP AS A GUEST AT THE SECOND MICHEL COLLECTORS’ SEMINAR.
On 15-16 November the second MICHEL collectors’ seminar of the Philatelic Academy e. V took place at Eching near Munich. The President of the BPP, Christian Geigle, gave a two-hour lecture on the topic “Combating forgers and swindlers – expertisers in the service of philately” at the invitation of the organiser. With many new examples of the daily work of the BPP expertiser, he explained the tricks and ploys of forgers and fakers to the 50+ listeners in the packed meeting room and pointed out how to take protective measures. The ensuing discussion proved once again how important such information is for dedicated collectors. This was also the consensus of the participants: “Today we have learned a lot!” The BPP hears this willingly.
